What We Believe

As a local church, our statement of beliefs is our most important identifier.  Without a firm reliance on Biblical truth, we cannot be a productive church to the glory of God.

to reading,
to exhortation,
to doctrine.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings.

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified at Calvary, and was buried only to rise from the dead after 3 days.  After 40 days, He ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father as High Priest and Advocate for those who trust in Him.

Sinfulness of Man

We believe man was created in the image of God, and that he disobeyed God, incurring both spiritual and physical death.  Further, we believe that all the Adamic race was born in sin and are sinners by nature and practice.

Justification by Faith

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

Salvation

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.  This is referred to as having been born-again or having been saved.

Man's Eternal Soul

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.

The Church

We believe the Church is an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body; its mission is to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, preaching the gospel among all nations.

Next Things

We believe that a great judgment is coming upon the earth.  Prior to that judgment, and according to His promise, Jesus Christ will come in order to deliver those who trust in Him from what Scripture calls "the wrath to come."

The Believer's Walk

We believe the grace of God to be sufficient for the maintenance of a Godly walk, and that Christ and not the law is the believer’s rule of life.

Marriage and Sexual Behavior

We believe the institutions of marriage and family are instituted by God, that marriage is between one man and one woman.  Further we believe that any sexual behavior outside of marriage is a violation of God’s intended design.

Gender

We further believe that in God’s creation of humanity as a man and a woman there are only two genders (sexes) and that a person’s gender (sex) is determined by God at conception.  As God does not make mistakes, any efforts to change one’s gender (sex) is an affront to God’s Person.
